TUESDAY 8-BALL POOL LEAGUE

 

 

RULES OF PLAY:

 

1.     Start time: All teams scheduled to play should make every attempt to start at 7:00pm.  There will be a 30-minute grace period which means games will start no later than 7:30pm.  1(a) Cost to Shoot is $5.00 per week per player, $20.00 per team per week.

 

2.     At least two players from each team must start play no later than 7:30pm.  2(a) A forfeit will occur if a teams player(s) are not present by the time they are suppose to play in the first round.  If player(s) are not present by their turn to shoot during the 2nd round, all games for that players(s) will be forfeited for that night.  2(b) Three (3) score point and a win for the opposing player are awarded for each forfeit  2(c) If a substitute player is going to be used he/she should be on the score sheet before starting games.  NO double playing if substitutes cannot be found.  NO substituting for another team if already shooting for that night.

 

3.     Home team racks 1st and 3rd rounds. Home team listed 2nd.

 

4.     On the break if a solid or stripe is made and no foul occurs (scratch), whatever is pocketed on the break is that shooters object balls.  If a solid and stripe is made, or more that 1 of each, the shooter than has a choice of which object ball to shoot.  4(a) A shooter who has choice after the break cannot use a solid to make a stripe or vice versa.  4(b) If choice of object ball goes to opposing player because of a foul on the break rule 4(a) is still in effect.

 

5.     NO JUMP SHOTS ALLOWED!

 

6.     NO MASSE” SHOTS ALLOWED!

 

7.     Shooter must call object ball and intended pocket nothing else.  If object ball goes into called pocket player keeps shooting.

 

8.     A SAFE shot is when a shooters object ball makes contact with any rail after striking it with the cue ball.  Any of the shooters object balls may contact the rail and it be a safe shot if the cue ball was struck first, (i.e. player has solids, strikes 3 ball with cue ball, which hits the 5 ball and  the 5 ball makes contact with rail, or, 3 ball into 10 ball into 5 ball which then hits a rail).

 

 

 

9.     A FOUL occurs if shooter does not hit his object ball first.  Any cue fouls will be considered a foul.  *All foul must be called by the opposing player-not a teammate!!!  9(a) If a foul occurs the opposing player has the option to shoot or make the player who fouled shoot again.  9(a) (1) If the opposing player has his opponent shoot again and he/she commits another foul the other player receives cue ball in hand.  9(a) (3) If rule 9(a) (2) is chosen and shooter fouls again the other player has cue ball in hand.

 

10. If rule 9(a)(1) is invoked the cycle of concurrent fouls starts over if on the second attempt a safe shot occurs.

 

11. NO coaching of players by teammates while that player is up to shoot.  Teams may talk while the opposing player is up to shoot.

 

12. All disputes to these rules during play will be addressed to the Commissioner (management) and that decision is FINAL!!!

    

     13.An objective ball is consider “in the kitchen” if any part off the ball is in the kitchen.
